PENTHOUSE LAUNCHES THE FIRST ADULT HD CHANNELS IN EUROPE!
(Boca Raton, FL – July 15, 2009) Penthouse Digital Media Productions Inc., a subsidiary of FriendFinder Networks Inc., PH Media and General Satellite announced the launch of the first pan-European linear adult HD channels, including: PENTHOUSE HD, PENTHOUSE HD1 and PENTHOUSE HD2. This ground-breaking collaboration opens world class, adult HD entertainment options to European audiences and many CIS territories.
Under this exciting new partnership, two HD hard core channels will broadcast to markets where hard core content is available (e.g.: France, Spain, the Netherlands): PENTHOUSE HD1 and PENTOUSE HD2. For markets offering soft core content (e.g.: Germany, the United Kingdom), General Satellite and Penthouse are offering the HD soft channel: PENTHOUSE HD. All 3 HD channels will be available via Eutelsat EUROBIRD 9 A at 9° East’s satellite, whose footprint covers Europe and CIS territories. SCHEDULED LAUNCH DATE: SEPTEMBER 15th, 2009
PH Media will represent the three channels exclusively in the CIS territories while offering the rest of Europe the channels non-exclusively to private, personal dish subscribers.
General Satellite will provide service-oriented middleware and their proprietary set top boxes.
Penthouse likewise, through a longstanding relationship with NOA Productions, will license the three HD channels across the rest of Europe via cable, satellite, IPTV, and other platforms.
