February 12th, 2004 – Friends’ Star Jennifer Aniston Chosen As America’s Favorite Valentine’s Day Fantasy Date
Baby Boomers Demi Moore, Meg Ryan & Diane Lane Beat Out Twenty-Year-Old Competitors in Survey by World’s Largest Online Dating Network
PALO ALTO, CA – February 12th, 2004 — FriendFinder, Inc., the world’s largest online dating network, tapped into its huge database of 20 million single daters to find out who was America’s favorite celebrity date for Valentine’s Day.
While it was no surprise that Friends’ star Jennifer Aniston emerged as "America’s Favorite Fantasy Date," it was the second, third and fourth-place winners who demonstrated an interesting shift in the male perception of the ideal Valentine’s Day date.
Baby boomers Demi Moore and Meg Ryan, both 42 years old, and 39-year-old Diane Lane (Unfaithful, Under the Tuscan Sun) handily beat out the next generation’s younger competition – twenty-somethings Amy Smart (The Butterfly Effect) and Kate Bosworth (Blue Crush). 58-year-old Diane Keaton came in seventh on the list.
"Frankly, we were surprised. In today’s youth-oriented culture, you would think that single men would be drawn to younger beauties, "said FriendFinder CEO Andrew Conru. "Not the case. In our poll, single men overwhelmingly preferred the confidence and beauty of women in their 30′s and 40′s. I would expect that this interesting trend should make women baby boomers quite happy this year."
Poll results: Which celebrity would you prefer to date on Valentine’s Day?
- Jennifer Aniston (34%) – 35 years old
- Demi Moore (28%) – 42 years old
- Meg Ryan (17%) – 42 years old
- Diane Lane (9%) – 39 years old
- Amy Smart (4%) – 26 years old
- Kate Bosworth (4%) – 22 years old
- Diane Keaton (4%) – 58 years old
